The Otherside Sessions...

And that's a wrap! We've laid our last vocals down at Big in Japan this week and are thrilled to be mixing and soon to be releasing the two single demo in early May!
The demo will feature political ballad and orchestrally influenced The Otherside and the previously released haunting song What's in a Day with a new arrangement including the incredible presence of cellist Cris Derksen and experimental guitarist Chris Leitch. After much debate over the cover photo for the single, we decided instead to go back to what we love- record art. After meeting Steven Fagan, a fellow die-hard PJ Harvey fan in line at The Moore Theatre a in Seattle and soon exchanging addresses and records after the concert, we asked him if he'd consider doing an art piece for our duo. After listening to our music and keeping in touch over the months he sent us, via snail mail, what is now our cover, an original hand drawn ink print.

For now, here's new studio photos from our last session. Stay tuned for the release date and incredible record art!

Warm Reds for a Winter Session at Big in Japan

Revive the Redheads have begun their last sessions for the EP singles at Big In Japan Recordings. Nested in the China Cloud building in downtown Vancouver, Revive the Redheads are working with founder of Big in Japan, Mark Lawrence, to chase their acoustic and experimental vision for the two singles. Having left major studios and teaching in Vancouver's popular sound engineering institutions, Mark Lawrence decided to create a recording space in which artists could record very much the way we used to record- with few bells and whistles, focusing more on the music itself. Rather than perfecting for radio play, Lawrence looks more for an authenticity and texture in each artists music and emphasizes that.
With two more vocal sessions to go, we're pleased to announce that we're releasing our two singles The Other Side and What's in a Day in April! You will be able to hear them on MySpace first and they will be available for download on SoundCloud soon after, iTunes will follow. We thank you again for all your support, music lovers! Check out some new studio photos below....
