REVIVE THE REDHEADS RECEIVE A FACTOR GRANT!

Hey all,

We, the redheaded songstresses are so thrilled to share with you all that we've received a FACTOR grant! This means we're heading back into the studio and fully completing our first two singles! We'll be releasing the haunting indie-pop ballad "What's in a Day" and classically influenced "The Otherside" as our first two singles of the EP due out in the spring! Both songs will feature experimental guitarist Chris Leitch of Analog Bell Service and also the notable cellist Cris Derksen, renound for her muli-track soundscapes and her collaboration with nationally acclaimed Inuit singer Tanya Tagaq. Both singles will be on iTunes in the spring/summer of 2011 so look out for them!

Revive the Redheads and a Folk Pop Songstress

Hey all,

We've added a new songstress to our vocally driven setlist at The Tipper in Vancouver! You can hear a live clip on MySpace of our acapella Cat Power inspired version of the old blue grass folk tune "Salty Dog" featuring Becca Brotherston singing the sultry bassy low harmonies.  For more Becca Brotherston check this out :

Revive the Redheads working with Cris Derksen!

Revive the Redheads are thrilled to say that we're going to be working with experimental Vancouver cellist Cris Derksen. She's played with some of the best new artists including Kanye West and popular throat-singer Tanya Tagaq who recorded with Bjork on her Vespertine album.
Though she's classically trained, Cris Derksen is anything but the classical prototype. She creates mesmerizing atmospheric melodies and unconventional beats using foot pedals and a drum machine to layer her cello compositions. We had the pleasure of seeing her perform live at Cafe Montemarte last week to a packed house! We recommend you see Cris live- it's an experience unto itself! Check out more on Cris Derksen here: http://www.crisderksen.com/
